Tree-ness House / Akihisa Hirata

Bridging the gap between nature and architecture, the architecture based on Akihisa Hirata Tokyo Office designed organic residential complex in Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Japan for breaking the typical layered architectural form very often seen in residential architecture. The result is very ambiguous indoor and outdoor spaces creating a more dynamic experience for its users. More pictures and description of the architect after the break.

The building is a residential complex and tenant spaces in Tokyo. The site includes a narrow width and long depth, allowing a narrow profile volume to assume the condition. Unlike typical layered architecture that stacks only floors, this design is intended to create a system of organic layers. The design includes objects that typical architecture does not count as outdoor spaces and street to generate spaces which are three dimensions.Par example, as a tree creates spaces in the air, the design creates a tangled space which is ambiguous in interior-exterior for the people.

By the composition of the boxes, layered with voids volume is created. Inside boxes, there are spaces closed as the bedrooms and outside boxes are the terraces or open spaces, Interior, surrounded by glass.Boxes were folded openings and it allows the ambiguity of the relationship inside - outside these folds .Autour, greenery is planted and it creates three-dimensional gardens around the perimeter of the building.Arrangement of functional and empty, openings and green gauge volumes and incorporates a whole organic.

The design aims to develop the possibility of the architecture of nature as in other projects too, but design developed further in this projet.Le trunk and leaves have a different appearance but the same quality in the Foundation, and this relationship creates an organic layer architecture .the design structure releases new architectural principle which is able to connect a complex ecosystem of the city.
