Review of the Ricoh CX4

This hits the doorstep all Blushing pink in colour ... Ricoh on the latest entry in the compact rate — Ricoh CX4. It is a pink colour, startling, and just to set the sentence on the peace, is also available in the more sedate silver or black. Uffff!

Ricoh CX4

Apparently run-of-the-mill assembles, CX4 has some advice to his sleeve digital.

CMOS Sensor, 10 million pixel image is created by 10.7 x optical zoom lens with an aperture maximum of f3.5 slow. Shots Show the full range of magnification.

There is no optical viewfinder, but the LCD screen is displaying large 7.6 cm high-resolution 920,000 pixels.

The maximum resolution is 3648 × 2736 pixels or 31 23 cm. movies: Clip Motion JPEG justified 1280 × 720 pixels, which lasts 12 minutes you can save up to 4 GB SD/SDHC card (class 6 recommended) … now you can see the reason for the AVCHD efficient space in other cameras!

Continuous stills can be shot at different rates, depending on the size of the image, starting at 5 frames and the transfer of the to the series of pictures shot in 120 fps to 120: only disconnect from it is that the images are 640 x 480 pixels.

The range of exposure modes is limited: only auto;shutter or aperture priority not but there are several modes of depiction, which may help the night portraits, adjustment of the inclination of the image and others.

Creative shooting mode has several options: Capture OF HDR, where two consecutive images are merged into the extension of the scope of a dynamic; mini player mode diorama; high con B & W; Cross processing and toy camera mode (read the camera with plastic "Diana") and "night landscape multi-shot" mode, where a series of four exposure is shot at high ISO settings and combined in one photo.

CX4 offers a new system of AF tracking the subject that automatically tracks the traffic of the topic, so it is ideal for pictures of children active and animals.

Another feature, once common, but less these days, is a series of time intervalometer, allowing exposure until the hours refer to this flower develop!

Ricoh CX4 ISO 100 f4.6 1:25 sec.jpg

ISO 100 shows performance good, as it should.

Ricoh CX4 ISO 800 f4.6 1:220 sec.jpg

IN ISO 800 noise is on the rise, but that the setting is still used.

Ricoh CX4 ISO 1600 f4.6 1:400 sec.jpg

In the 1600 ISO noise is even more obvious, but the setting is still used.

Ricoh CX4 ISO 3200 f4.6 1:800 sec.jpg

At ISO 3200, noise is very noticeable and the definition of a noticeable. TALKING not usesable.

Within three seconds after power up, I was able to shoot my first picture, and then take as soon as you can and choose follow-unit.

Was a slight distortion of the lens barrel at the end of the wide zoom, but does not speak of the end of the tele.

Quality: OK, but not brilliant.
Why can buy CX4: you want high-quality assembled from some nice toys, you can play with … as cross-border processing, etc.
Why can't: ID texts on the rear controls are nearly unreadable in low light; you need more control of exposure; Full HD is the video.

Generally, quite good CD, although perhaps a little over priced. I appreciate the select-mode rigid: not chances for disc slip to unwanted setting ... Unlike most compacts yourself!
